Hear2Talk is a free, confidential, and independent phone service for people struggling with challenging emotions in the workplace, whether this is job-related stress or personal/life stress that is showing up at work.
Hear2Talk is funded by the NSW Government State Insurance Regulatory Authority (SIRA) and is free for all workers across NSW.
Hear2Talk’s phone-based support is run by Peer Workers, who have first-hand experience of navigating mental health challenges. Hear2Talk’s experienced Peer Workers can support you to develop strategies to work through personal and workplace challenges and improve your mental health and wellbeing.
As a new service, we are available to provide support quickly, with none of the long wait times currently affecting many mental health services.
A few key features of the service include:
· Available 6 days a week, including after business hours from 12pm-7pm, Sunday – Friday.
· Your call doesn’t need to be work-related.
· Option for follow-up calls to see how you’re progressing.
· Call-back service to ensure you get timely support.
· Access to additional support if required.
Hear2Talk can be reached on 1300 H2 TALK (1300 428 255).

Hear2Talk is complementary to EAP where it exists, and different in a few ways.
Hear2Talk might be the first step for someone to reach out to chat about their wellbeing. All NSW workers can call the service 6 days a week including after business hours, between 12pm and 7pm, and they’ll be able to speak to one of our experienced Peer Workers right away – no need to pre-book. Hear2Talk operates completely independent to all workplaces.
A caller’s reason for contacting the service also doesn’t have to be work-related. If a worker is impacted by events outside of work that they are struggling to cope with, they can contact our service about that too.
The Hear2Talk team are also available to join your workplace team meetings (online), to share more information about the service if you’d like. Feel free to reach out to arrange this, or if you have any questions – hear2talk@neaminational.org.au
